St. Croix Hair Sheep are parasite resistant - we do NOT need to worm our flock. The ewes are very good mothers. They are parasite resistant and there is no need to dock tails -- they are resistant to fly strike. Mothers ususally have a single lamb their first year and then twins or triplets after that. The EWES BREED ALL YEAR LONG SO YOU CAN HAVE OUT OF SEASON LAMBING IF DESIRED. Our ram has a very quiet disposition that he passes on to his offspring.
This breed is just wonderful -- NO NEED TO SHEAR, they shed their winter coat in the spring!
Our sheep are naturally raised on pasture, fresh water, and good quality hay. No hormones, medications, vaccines or worming meds.
PRICE: EWE LAMBS ARE $350 each for Registered breeding stock. Unregistered St. Croix ewe lambs are $300 each. St. Croix Dorper Crossbreds range from $250-300 each.
RAM LAMBS RANGE IN PRICE FROM $200 unregistered to $350 FOR REGISTERED ST. CROIX Breeding STOCK and spotted St. Croix-Dorper Crossbreds depending on age/size/registration.
